I am sitting in the Bartholomew County Library in Columbus, IN, enjoying the High-speed wireless internet that is free to patrons. I have had to do some emergency design work for a client of mine and it was impossible to do so at my in-laws who only have dial up. The library was designed by I.M. Pei, an architect of international renown. The glass pyramid outside the Louvre Museum in Paris?… I.M Pei. I am sitting in a little nook with an ample window looking out upon the front plaza of the library. Henri Moore's Large Arch is visible. Henri Moore was Britain's most famous sculptor of the last century. The piece is a beautiful, towering bronze, and I always love to see it. It reminds me of my graduate schooling in England. Henri Moore grew up around where I studied and there was a large sculpture park devoted to him at my school. It was amazing and quite pastoral to see these beautiful world-class sculptures nestled in the sheep pastures.
We are having a great time in IN. Check out Alana's blog in a few days and she will probably tell you of our pathetic existence in a wireless-free world and the lengths such an existence will drive one to.
Peace out Earthlings!
